LFW SS11 Day One: Daily Wear

Hi guys,

So, London Fashion Week is finally here!! As usual i'll be rushing around like a headless chicken (and enjoying every minute!) It's such a fun week: meeting other bloggers, being emerged in fashion, being surrounding by people that think it's ok to wear 6 inch heels for 8 hours in a row...

I wish I was the kind of person that could prepare outfits in advance (you read about such people on twitter!) but my preferred method is to plan on planning outfits in advance then get distracted, and end up getting dressed in a blind panic ten minutes before I need to leave the house! Nonetheless, here's what i'm wearing:

Primark, Long black dress

River Island, Beloved leather jacket

Joy, Over body bag

New Look heeled desert boots

Ahhh, my old friend black: always good to turn to when you're in a rush!! I didn't have time to do all my nails in my favourite leopard print pattern, so I just did one on each hand: I love the colour combination of the turquoise with the browns!

Something for the weekend: A round-up

A round-up of all the little tid-bits I wanted to share this week that weren't big/important enough to have a post all of their own, so they have to share!!

- This week, I am mostly loving, River Island. I went in today and loved nearly everything I saw: I could have spent a small fortune. Instead I reinvested the money I finally got refunded from Very on two dresses (Mike refers to them as granny dresses!) and a pretty awesome scarf covered in horses, wih a pocketful of cash left over (sadly though there isn't a picture of the scarf on the website so you'll have to wait for a daily wear post to see it!):
- I cannot wait for winter, partially thanks to Clothing at Tesco! I just saw the video of the new A/W Florence and Fred collection, and it makes me long for knitwear! The three pieces that are top of my list are the cream oversized snood, the shearling coat with the hood, and the oversized black embellished dress. What are your favourite pieces?

Competition: Win £250 from Style Compare!

You may remember that around this time last year I brought you guys a great competition from Style Compare; well now it's back! You, and readers from five other blogs, will be pitted against each other in a competition to show your accessorising skills, and win £250 to spend at the wonderful Style Compare for yourselves. And if one of you lovely people win, £250 for me too! Result!

All you have to do is accessorize the gorgeous Max Mara dress shown below with stuff from the site for either day or evening, or if you're feeling ultra-competitive, for both. Style Compare is a fashion comparison site which has over 80,000 up-to-date products to choose from, from more than 1,500 different labels, so you won't find it hard to find shoes, bags, jewellery, jackets, or whatever else you're looking for to make the outfit perfect.

You can either make a 'collage' of the chosen items or simply list them - it's up to you. (I'm a big fan of a collage though!) Here's my hurriedly hashed up example:
I went for a cozy wintry feel, as the new season is pretty much upon us! The only rule is that, like I did, you have to keep the value of your accessories under £250.

Style compare: Valentines day competition

I don't really buy into valentines day: I find it all a bit commerical (and yes, i do have a boyfriend- im not being a miserable singleton!) so I won't be hosting a valentines day competition of my own. I know that probably makes me a scrooge, but so be it!

But when I saw this competition from style compare (http://www.stylecompare.co.uk/) I knew I had to share.
